It all really depends on how much work your teeth require. Some people, who have already worn braces in high school will probably require little work. They will probably just need to do some minor cleaning and some whitening procedures to make their smiles whiter and brighter. They would probably not even need any work at all. Dental bonding is used to repair cracked, chipped, and discolored teeth including the replacement of silver fillings. It can also repair misaligned teeth, thereby giving the patient a straighter and more uniform smile. This material can also be directly applied and sculpted to the surfaces of teeth that are prominently displayed during a smile. Moreover, you can enjoy the results of the procedure in just a few weeks after the last treatment. Tooth contouring Another inexpensive treatment in correcting crooked teeth is tooth contouring and reshaping. This is the procedure where the dentist scrapes off a portion of the existing tooth enamel. Next, the dentist will then place a bonding compound or a veneer directly on the tooth (or teeth, as the case may be). The procedure is simple and is done in two sessions. The first visit is for making a teeth impression and for placing a temporary inlay. Your dentist sends your impression to a dental lab to make an inlay to match your personal dental specifications. The second visit is for removal of the temporary inlay and the placement of the permanent one on your teeth. Costs of dental veneers vary sharply depending on the fees of the cosmetic dentist, the skills (technical and artistic) on the ceramist who makes the veneers, and the place where you want your procedure. (Clinics in urban areas charge more.) Porcelain veneers which can last for 10 to 15 years may cost $900 to $2,500 per tooth. Some would want the good old-fashioned smile makeover or the movie-star white-teeth smile. Others simply want to straighten a crooked smile (caused by a crooked tooth or a group of teeth). Some others would just want to replace their old metal fillings with the now-popular white tooth-colored restorations.
