If clutter obstructs the movement of the occupants in the house, it does similar things to the ch'i. Even for the sake of argument that one does not bank too much on the chi the way Feng shui believers do, clutter poses dangers that could go seriously wrong. The entrances to the home like main doorways, screens and gates must be free and clear. To dismiss them would simply be idiotic as many already did and have proven nothing aside from making a belief that they do not cotton into only to be advertised the more and inadvertently help its propagation. There will always be the skeptics and believe me, they have had their share of helping issues to be advertised freely and more forcefully since once they have committed their emotions into fighting against one; it happens that they become even more vocal than the adherents. The poison arrows are more likely to be found in cramped office spaces but nonetheless has to be checked out and avoided at all cost. Sharp objects, exposed sharp corners of walls, the corner of a desk of a co-worker, edges of cabinets, even the thorn of a cactus plant must not be placed in a direct path to where you are sitting. For some, bedrooms are mostly places to rest and sleep. If this were the case soft color that is conducive to rest like blues, soft greens and pastel colors could be chosen. Others though work better in the bedroom than any other place in the house. For this other colors apply. For some, like the younger members of the household, a more cheery and vibrant color will be better suited. For professional work, remember that subtleties and variables are largely dependent and as widely varied as the person sitting beside you to the next. Advanced Feng shui practice and consultation will require detailed analysis based on charts and investigations, and could take a while to be written up, because Feng shui is about people, about events and circumstances and how this could all be taken in to harmonize with nature. The chi flows in a way that whoever would be positioned directly below the beam will suffer the extra pressure that is generated in those beams. Students, especially the younger ones are good agents of clutter. One of the best things that the teacher has to do is to train the kids to avoid cluttering and dirtying the classroom.
