You can use a cupboard or a room so that they can easily move around in it. Place some artificial plants and branches to make the proper environment for them like they have in trees. They may like to climb up the branches or hang over them. If the iguana is small, make a proper cage without any holes in, so that they cannot escape out of it. Their tail is their defensive measure. It is pointed at the end. When they sense any danger they flick the tail high up in the air. Many times, the vultures will get a chance and snatch the tail apart. It can grow again without impairment. These animals have very tough skin, which can ward off scratches or cuts and it is also resistant to water. The mother iguana tries to find some best place to lay eggs and waits till their hatching is over. There are both natural as well as artificial nests for iguanas. The iguanas get their babies from both types of nests. The disadvantages are that, if the number of reptiles increases more than the owners have space in their homes, it will be a big problem to feed them. They eat leaves, seeds, flowers and fruits. Their diet changes as the seasons change. Sometimes they eat insects, animal food, land crabs and carrions. Small animals and insects are pet food for young Rhinoceros Iguanas. The bush or the plant that they select for their food is precious to them. They will guard it from the other species of iguanas. You can follow a diet plan for them in consultation with an expert. The iguanas normally eat plants, vegetables and fruits. They should not be fed food containing animal protein. They may relish pizza and all junk food, but that is not good for their health. Give them a limited quantity of vegetables. They cannot travel long to find any other suitable dwelling place as they easily get disjointed. The female red iguanas lay eggs in burrows dug by them in hot sunny areas. They cover their eggs and leave them unguarded. The eggs get hatched themselves because of warmth of steady temperature between 77 and 89 degrees Fahrenheit.
