The favorite pray of trapdoor spiders includes grasshoppers, moths, crickets, but they don't back off when it comes to having small birds and scorpions for their meals too. The size of trapdoor spiders is not larger than three centimeters for the body, with the females clearly dominating the males in this respect. Once the venom has got into the system, there is a whole range of symptoms that accompany the brown recluse spider bite: vomiting, nausea, fever and muscular or joint pain have been among the most frequently reported. Though apparently harmless, the brown recluse spider bite is more serious than that of other more venomous and threatening species. The huntsman spider is easy to be taken for a tarantula, but it is harmless to humans; it never bites unless provoked, and the wound is superficial and healing in just a couple of days. The size of the huntsman spider may seem impressive, as it has no less than three centimeters in leg-span. The legs of the huntsman spider are actually the characteristic element for the species: rather than having them attached vertically to the body, they are twisted, with a crab-like appearance. The physical reactions to a spider bite are usually classified into local and systemic; the former can be treated at home right after the occurrence of the accident, whereas the latter often require professional medical treatment in order to reduce the reaction of the body to the venom. The local symptoms associated with a spider bite include pain, itching, redness and even swelling of the area; their intensity can be reduced if a tight bandage is applied above the wound. Though, there are some morphological differences, the three varieties are pretty much related and similar to each other. Like many other venomous creatures, the black widow spider has bright red pattens on it as a warning sign for predators that would attempt to feed on it. The black widow spider is not capable of killing a bird that would eat it, but the digestive sickness that would follow, will be definitely enough to make it avoid attacking the black widow again. Furthermore, as they spend most of their time at ground level, these creature also have a very well-developed sense of touch. The wolf spider is not an aggressive species, though it may bite if provoked or threatened. Their bite is not very serious, there will be mild and bearable pain and itching, and local swelling occasionally.
