The great thing about these creatures is that they have adapted to the harshest of environments from the desert and the tropics to the Arctic areas where they can live underwater. In terms of gender relationships, male spiders are famous for being killed right after intercourse, or at least this is the general myth people know. The local symptoms associated with a spider bite include pain, itching, redness and even swelling of the area; their intensity can be reduced if a tight bandage is applied above the wound. This precaution measure is only valid in case the spider bite is located at the level of the arms or legs. One other thing you can do is to put some ice or cold water on the bite in order to reduce the discomfort and alleviate the pain. The wolf spider is not an aggressive species, though it may bite if provoked or threatened. Their bite is not very serious, there will be mild and bearable pain and itching, and local swelling occasionally. Though some of the wolf spider varieties like the Australian and the South American ones were thought to create necroses, recent studies have proved this to be a false myth. Brown recluse spiders are small, with an overall adult size that does not go beyond twelve millimeters; males are small then females, but they have slightly larger feet. Th color of the brown recluse spiders goes from tan to dark brown, and sometimes there may be an intense yellow pattern on the body too. The consequences of the exposure to the venom of hobo spiders are less serious than the bites of the brown recluse spider for instance. However, people who have been bitten may expect to experience headaches and a general feeling of malaise. Sometimes, even vision problems have been reported, but under such circumstances you should contact the doctor right away and receive professional help. For the protection of its eggs the female funnel web spider will bite fiercely, hence this is the period during which the chances of getting bitten are the highest. It takes only three weeks before the eggs hatch and two more months before they leave the nest. Females have an incredibly long lifespan up to ten years - while the males die within a year after they reach maturity.
