It takes years of hard work in order for you to play like these guys and really rock hard. You need to study and review the lessons that have been given to you. By exercising the lessons you learned, you will eventually master it and keep your skills fresh. The sixth tip that you should remember is to practice. Depending on the type of music you play, make sure that you choose the proper drums in order to get the maximum effect from it. The rule for this is that for rock or amplified music, bigger drums are better. But, for jazz and acoustic type of music, you will find that smaller drums will sound better. Besides, banging an empty garbage can with the lid as the cymbal, and using your mom s wooden spoon as drum sticks will not really sound great on tape, not to mention that the ears of the people within hearing range will be complaining. However, what if you really don t have the money to purchase a new drum set? If you are serious about drumming, then you may want to try replacing these things with better quality cymbals. Today, there are so many cymbals that you can choose from. If you are just starting out as a drummer or you are considered as an intermediate level drummer, you can be overwhelmed by the available choices. When you are positioning the drums, you need to make sure that each drum is easy for you to hit with the drum stick in just one stroke. And, you should be able to do so comfortably while you are sitting down on the drum chair or what most drummers call the throne. You can also try adjusting the angle of each drum if you are not comfortable with the initial set up. But, it will still provide you with a natural stick bounce and feel. Drum pad silencers are available for the drums, the bass drums, and the cymbals. You need to understand that you will still create some noise when you are practicing with your drums with the drum pad silencers. But, the sound will be significantly reduced to the point where in the person inside the room opposite to the room where you are playing your drums in will barely hear you playing.
