People say that edible mushrooms such as truffles have no nutritional value at all and these are used just to add flavor to a variety of staple dishes. However, more recent studies show that truffles and other types of mushrooms can bring a lot of health benefits especially to vegetarians, people who don t eat meat and only consume vegetables. If you want to learn how to find truffles in the forest, read on the different techniques discussed below. 1. Know where to locate truffles Of course, not every forest has truffles underneath it. These mushrooms grow only in humid and warm climates. In Europe, for example, truffles can be found mostly in the forests of Italy and France. All you can say is that truffles smell pungent, earthy, musky, and sensual. That being said, you can more accurately say that people perceive the aroma of the truffle based on the olfactory response it evokes, not so much on its real smell.
