Regular tennis shoes cannot give that glide. In fact, when it comes to bowling shoes, each shoe is designed differently as they function independent of each other. One shoe is glossy smooth so it gives the bowler a flawless glide. The other shoe has a stickier sole so it acts as a brake to stop the glide. Here are some tips for a better delivery of the ball: 1. Having a relaxed grip of the ball is very important in making the arm flow freely when swinging. This will help in overcoming the fear of dropping the ball. The fingers should be always be relaxed when delivering (swinging) the ball. 2. It is also recommended that a bowler learn the different styles and techniques of bowling. The approach is where players take several strides to get the maximum adrenaline they need to release the ball and knock down the pins. There is a control line (foul line) which marks the place where players must let go of the ball. The player must not cross the line before or after the ball has been thrown. They should cooperate with teammates by not wasting time during the game and participating eagerly in the game. 7. Cleanliness and neatness is extremely important. Know where to throw the used drinking bottles or other food waste they accumulate. It is not proper to scatter all the leftovers in the lanes - use the trash receptacle. Not to mention you ll ruin the surface of your ball. When practicing at home, mark your foul line and arrows in masking tape or other material that will not damage your floor. Also mark where your toes need to be for each step. Practice your approach until it s second nature. You can practice your arm swing outdoors with a bucket of water with a small hole at the bottom. Sorting Out Strikes and Spares - Scoring a Bowling Game Believe it or not, the average recreational bowler, though capable of performing well on the bowling alley, may be at a total loss when it comes to being able to keeping score. Many bowling alleys now have an automatic scoring system that does all the figuring of the scores for them.
